Approach
Most projects start with a fragment of an idea that develops, often with communities, developers, planners, cities and artists working together, into a project with defined goals. This could be as focused as the need for an artwork that portrays a certain story or as complex as developing short and long-range plans for a creative future. Ambergris Project’s approach starts with identifying a client’s decision makers, stakeholders, and underrepresented communities and asking questions and listening. From there, research and precedent study helps identify the parameters of a project and tests initial ideas and assumptions. For public art projects, this is often the point where an artist call is developed and advertised. For art and cultural planning projects, this is typically the stage when a project or plan’s vision and outline lays out key supportive elements. As a public art project or an art and cultural planning project progresses, communication along with testing concepts refines projects and plans achieving meaningful results. Representation is always the foundation for our work. Implementable projects and plans is what we provide.
